Offshoring Jobs Watch

This page is devoted to making public those companies laying off coders, billers, medical transcriptionists to send these jobs outside of the United States in lieu of complying with CMS and HIPAA laws and paying what is tantamount to slave-wages to counterparts in other parts of the world. For example, for what is paid an USA-based coder, these companies can easily employ up to 4-5 coders for the same wage, which is equivalent to a slave-wage in the United States.

We believe that all physicians and those who provide medical services should know that they are ultimately responsible for any/all claims that go out the door including those generated from other countries where they have no control. The legal ramifications that our government imposes on those who violate HIPAA are not, can not and will not be extended to counterparts who are working beyond the borders of the United States.

It is our desire that with this knowledge being made public, medical professionals who use these companies for their medical coding, billing and/or auditing are very careful about using these companies and that Medical Health Records, Patients’ Financial Records and other protected health information is at risk.

Likewise, those seeking employment with these companies could, at some point, find themselves without a job as these same companies expand into other foreign countries as demand grows.
